What drives prices up in Austin
Edit
In Sept. 2009 I wrote an article about the Top 3 Value Drivers in the Austin housing market. One of those drivers is proximity to the downtown areas. These are the areas that are more heavily populated, and where "things happen" in Greater Austin. You can see from this Population Density chart that the closer you get to the city life, downtown and retail areas, the more popular the area becomes. If you want to be in the middle of things, there is still room for you--but the price of admission is on the rise.
