Smart Home Technology

Smart Home Certified. I just completed my certification on Smart Home technology. It was a good "primer" on Smart Home technology, but I will say, I have been building smart home technology and automation into our homes for many years now and I feel as though I am more of an expert on many of these technologies than most. Smart Home security, automation, and ease of use technologies. I have some very strong opinions about which pieces of smart home technology are helpful and which technologies are risky or maybe over-rated. For example, several years ago when I was installing cameras outside our home G would not let me put cameras inside the home to monitor the family. I was disappointed at first, but later I came to realize she was right. 100% right! If I could see inside the house, others could break into our network and see inside our home as well. That would be bad. Yes, I know, some people will tell you that their technology can not be hacked--hog wash! If there is one thing we should all know by now, with all the database and high security hacks that have taken place over the past few years--NOTHING and NO ONE is free of the risk of being hacked. No One and No Technology Provider can rightfully claim to be "hack-free". That technology has not been invented.
