The question of the day seems to be "So, are homes selling now in Austin?" And the answer is a very simple...yes!
If you have been wondering why I have not written a blog in a couple of weeks, the answer is that I have been trying to find time to sleep between client visits and offers. The Austin market is on fire! With low inventory levels, low interest rates and buyers starting to realize that this is a GREAT time for both buyers and sellers, our flat market seems to be turning up with a vengeance.
Question 2 is--What is driving the excitement? Well, first of all--INCREDIBLY LOW and unnaturally suppressed interest rates. When interest rates are this low (historical lows), both buyers and sellers win! In a big way. Couple that with the static home prices in $200k-$400k price range, aggressive home prices in the greater than $400k homes, and short term federal advantages for first time home buyers, and you end up with a market that is starting to explode from top to bottom.
If you are wanting to sell--call me. Inventory levels are low in many, many areas of Greater Austin. You can take advantage of this if your home shows well and is priced well to the market.
If you are a buyer--call me. This may be your perfect storm opportunity, regardless of price range for the home that you are seeking.
