"We really like the kitchen from this house. Open floor plan. Granite counter tops. Lots of cabinet space. And that huge Master suite, with the big walk in closet, big jetted tub and dual headed shower from the first house that we saw. And we really like the wood floors and big yard from the house that we saw on day one. That one was perfect, except for the kitchen and secondary bedrooms."
Finding the perfect house is a journey. The truth is, there is no such thing as the "perfect house". All properties have some short comings, and what I would call "trade-offs" for the buyer. Even when you are building the perfect home, in the end, when all the money is spent and the house is complete, I have yet to find a buyer or a custom home builder say "This is the perfect house--I would not change a single thing about it." Having said that, there is such thing as the Perfect Home. The perfect home is the house or property that has ~90% of the things that you would like to have in your home, with acceptable trade-offs and still remaining within your budget.
The truth of the matter is, no matter what your requirements or price range, if you simply double your budget, you can get from the "We really, really like this house" to the "This is the best house in the whole world" category very quickly. Yes, the last 10% loving-it normally costs about twice the premium of any given buyers budget. So, if you have unlimited budgets, you can find the absolutely perfect, no-holds-barred home of your wildest dreams. For the rest of us, 90-95% of our desires lands us in the Perfect Home for many, many years to come. Houses don't really come in the flavor of Perfect. But they can come in the flavor of Wonderful and within budget.
