Many Reason Not To Buy

There are many reasons not to buy a home now or make a move. For you--maybe you are waiting for perfect timing. You want to see if prices are at the bottom, or prices are going to drop in Austin this year. Maybe you are looking for a unbelievable deal that you have heard about on TV or in the news. Or maybe you want to find a foreclosure deal that gives you "instant equity". Maybe you just think if you can create a higher credit score you can get a little better interest rate. Or you want to wait until you make more money so that you can afford a bigger house, or a nicer community. Maybe you want to learn more about Greater Austin, so that you will know which community is perfect for you or your family. Maybe you are just worried that you might make a bad decision so you believe more time will allow you to make a better decision. Well, maybe you are right. Or maybe more time will only change which factors are not perfect for you--and no perfect time to purchase a new home will ever cross your path. Maybe.

I meet people every year who honestly believe that they are looking for a home, but really, many of them are just shopping. They truly believe that they are looking for a home, but the truth is they will never buy their new home because the conditions are never perfect enough. Sadly as the market conditions change, so do the positive factors that make them want to buy right now like low interest rates and low home prices in the communities where they want to live. Like any investment, there is no such thing as a "no risk" purchase, and there is no such thing as "perfect timing" or a "perfect house." Right now is almost always as good as it gets.

Finding a home does not have to be so difficult, and buying a house does not have to be a prolonged decision. You can easily make a house that you like, a home that you love. You should know, I have never sold a house that the buyer said to me "This is the perfect house. I would not change anything." Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of very happy buyers, but buyers are happy because they know that "perfect" does not exist in Real Estate. Perfect is simply a state of mind. A great house, at a fair price, and a feeling of home. That's Real Estate perfection.

If you are trying to find three good reasons to stop shopping and to actually buy a perfect home--here are a few reasons for you to consider. 1) Interest Rates are at all time lows. You and I may never see this again in our life time and low interest rates are the basis for big savings to you. 2) Whether you are a first time home buyer, or moving into the area for the first time from out of state--buying over short-term renting means you are putting equity into your pocket at a time when money matters 3) Austin is affordable. For the $200k home, $400k home, $1.5M home and the $MM homes--Austin is one of the most affordable communities where people want to live on this side of the planet. We have homes in all price ranges, and homes for all kinds of personal tastes and lifestyles. From the simple to the elaborate. From the city to the lakes to the golf course communities, we have choices.

So, at the end of the day, if you are reading this blog article, and you are asking yourself "Should I be buying a home now?" The answer is probably a resounding "Yes. You should probably be buying your Austin home now." Give me a call. We can talk about it.
